Shopping for land has been a long and frustrating process for us – because it’s hard to find affordable land where we desire to live. For years we have looked for land and houses in several states. We have looked for land by itself and land that includes a house. Kind of important to have a place to live too as my husband isn’t into camping. There have been several properties we would have loved to have owned but only a few we inquired about.
We have mainly looked for land online, occasionally we’ve used a newspaper, but not very often. We used to years ago, but we’ve become heavy internet users so it’s our go-to place for everything these days, even real estate. The cost of taking a trip to see land in another state, the cost of a move and homeschooling laws (they vary from state to state) and my mother-in-law have always kept us in Illinois. That’s a huge reason we became open to simply renting land so we could stay in Illinois – Land in Illinois is very expensive.
There are a couple regular sites we visit for real estate and land, but we recently learned of a new one for land called LandCentral.com. The site itself is easy to navigate and the information for each listing is an easy to read. They even have an e-newsletter that sends out alerts when property becomes available in your area. The only downfall I see right now is there are no listings for Illinois. Looks like they are working on it though.

My oldest daughter is a huge shoe person. She LOVES shoes. I am rather boring and practical. I like to have brown shoes that go with everything and I don’t have to have white shoes for spring and summer and black for fall and winter. She, on the other hand, loves to have wedges, heels and flats galore. She gets excited about styles, colors and sparkles. I think she takes after my husband because when we first got married he had a ton of shoes! He’s not like that now but as a single guy he must have liked spending money on shoes, mostly athletic ones. Regardless of where you are at on the shoe spectrum, I am sure you can appreciate Louboutin. Even I do. They are so pretty.

It’s back to school time and that not only means school supplies and school clothing, but also packing school lunches! I can’t imagine the morning school routine we’d have if I had to get 6-7 school lunches, school bags and children ready to get out the door! Hats off to you ladies with multiple children! What do you do to make sure their school lunches don’t get boring? After all you are packing lunches for at least 180 days in most states.
Growing up I always seem to have a sandwich, apple, granola bar or sweet for my bagged lunches. My mom wasn’t heavy into convenience foods back then and made nearly everything from scratch. Nowadays, there are so many packaged snacks to choose from, healthy and unhealthy. Our family prefers to eat organic (as much as possible), all natural foods and snacks without artificial flavors etc.

I have a very active, wiggly 3 year old. Sometimes trying to put sun screen on her is like trying to put it on a cat! I always miss a spot, however, with her new outfit I can worry less. The shirt covers her arms to her elbows and the hat is wide brimmed for fun at the beach. It’s light weight and doesn’t make her hot. I love the modesty of the entire outfit. It’s very age appropriate and fun!
It also washed up nicely! Gentle wash and drip dry.
