Chungaboo Language Series For iPad Review

I love my apps!  My daughter and I recently got this new app from Chungaboo Language Series (formally Lingo Slingo).  The first selection is “Words” – the app will say bear and then toss about 5 cards with different pictures and your child needs to select the correct picture.  If they select the wrong picture you get an “X” at the top of the screen.  This app has a choice of 6 different languages (Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish).  In addition, there are achievements – in this section there is “All-Time Scoring”, Beginner’s Badge by Language, and Maestro Badge by Language (50 card streak). From this app you can also purchase – Animals, Travel, and coming soon is Color Door. They have teasers to let you try before you spend the money.

This is a great app for your preschoolers!  My daughter will be 4 next month and really enjoys it.  The Chungaboo app not only helps her connect words to pictures, but it helps with her motor skills by the cards moving.  The music is not bad for parents either.  This is a wonderful learning game for road trips!  Check it out in your apps store!  Sorry, I didn’t see anything for you android users.

Livrada E-book Gift Cards Available at Target & Giveaway!

Disclaimer: Please note that I do not necessarily agree with the content of the books listed below. I am more interested in the idea of an e-book gift card.

Most of you know that I love to read. Love, love, love books. They are my dear friends that take me to new places and introduce me to new worlds. E-books have been around for a while. E-readers are still relatively new. I still haven’t gone over to the “dark” side. There’s just something about having a book in hand to read. I am intrigued though and maybe all the new e-readers will improve so much they’ll win me over. Either way, Livrada has come up with a cool new way to give e-books as gifts – Livrada E-book Gift Cards.

Today Livrada is launching their e-book gift cards at ALL Target stores! In this initial launch there are six best-selling titles available. Here are the current titles available:

Fifty Shades of Grey

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest

State of Wonder

Gone Girl

Charles Street

Odd Thomas

No more gift via email or generic gift cards. Our gift cards are replicas of the actual book cover! So grabbing a quick gift, no longer has to feel impersonal.

And they have offered one to giveaway to our readers – YOU!

FREE “Dummies” Books

I’ve used “Dummies” books before and they are helpful.  Check out these 3 that I ordered.  “Living the Boomer Life for Dummies“, “Well-Being for Dummies“, and “Retirement for Dummies” – Get these FREE Dummies books as a download if you need them faster or in hard copy.  They are available at REAL Powered by Humana,  which so far, for me at least, seems to be an equally good site for various information about work, family, self and play.  If you look near the middle of the page you will see Marketplace that’s where you will find these “Dummies” books too.  They are on the right side of the Marketplace link.

Little Ace and The Ten Commandments App Review & T-Shirt Giveaway

How cute is this little guy!

It’s never to early to have your children learning about the Ten Commandments, in a fun way! This little cartoon chick goes on a journey to find “the God”.  While in this travels he learns about the Ten Commandments through other cartoon animals.

The narrator of this story has a soothing voice, talks smoothly and slowly. With this iPad app you can turn the narrator on or off, so you or your child can read this e-book.  You can also control to turn the pages or have the “story” turn the pages when it’s time.  In addition, there are interactive opportunities for your child to help the animals with tasks, for example to find the goat’s glasses and put then on the goat. This app is available on iTunes for only $2.99.

Here are a few screen shots.

My Review –

This is a MUST HAVE e-book in my house.  My daughter and I loved it.  I let the narrator read to her (he does the animals voices much better than I).  The app says it good for children 4 and over, however my daughter is 3 and LOVED it.  What I like is it’s a book that will grow with your children.  Once they are at reading age, they can read to you.  The learning experience is also wonderful in a fun way.  My daughter loved the cartoon chick.  The graphics are not fancy or overwhelming.  Just very simple with a lot of impact on the story.  My recommendation is to download it now.  You won’t regret this one!

Here’s the download site – http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/little-ace-ten-commandments/id481298715?mt=8

Here’s Liitle Ace’s Website – http://www.acethechick.com/

And he’s on Facebook!  Go ahead and “like” him!  It’s hard not to!

Like this t-shirt?  You can win it!!!
