I have been busy brainstorming behind the scenes. Now I need to know how many of you faithful blog readers would be interested in a “heart 2 heart” conference call/webinar series hosted by your truly.  It would be me sharing from my mommy heart to yours. More than what I do here on the blog. Topics might include:

Life After Housework
Surviving The Toddler Years
Raising Engaging Kids
Whatever Happened To Respect?
Teaching Your Kids Responsibility
Simply Motherhood

I’d open it up for questions or take them before. So please leave your feedback (or e-mail me at faithandfamilyreviews AT gmail DOT com) with your topic, time of day, day preference and questions. I’d love to get this scheduled for early November. The sooner the better right?

This will be a FREE event and the seating will be limited, so let me know of your interest as soon as possible. Thanks!

Snowmen – The Family Movie Event of the Year

Snowmen is a all new heart-felt yet humors family-friendly movie about three young boys who want to make a difference and be remembered.

Our family loved this movie. We don’t know how the producers could make us laugh so hard at the same time we where crying. This movie was wonderful. All of our children loved it. And despite some rude humor, and mild language this movie was really good! It taught some great lessons about friendship, God, and making a difference.

Go see Snowmen in theaters! You and your kids will love it! You can learn more about Snowmen by visiting www.Snowmenmovie.com

Snowmen was created by the producers of notable films including The Passion of The Christ, The Ultimate Gift, and Braveheart.
The film stars Bobby Coleman (Last Song), Ray Liotta (Wild Hogs), Bobb’e J. Thompson (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), Josh Flitter (Ace Ventura Jr.) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future).

Faith and Family Reviews received a free screening of following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

You Know You Are a Farmer When……

I thought it would be funny (to us anyways!) to include a post about “You know you are a farmer when…” or “You know you live in the country when….” because we have had a few things happen that make us chuckle about living in the country/becoming farmers:

1. You buy a pair of overalls – for yourself, not your kids.

2. You are dragging home manure in the back of your van to fertilize your garden – not from the store mind you, freshly shoveled stuff into bags from a local farm!

3. Pet food costs nearly as much as your family’s food bill (not really but if we keep adding animals it could – for real!)

4. When the stars and moon keep you awake at night because they are so bright.

5. Your garbage pile is nearly as big as your neighbor’s manure pile. (Ha! Not really, I was just running out of quick witted things to list! But we do put out more garbage here.)

***CLOSED***Sam’s Club Supports BCA + Giveaway!

And the winner is………comment #37…..Congrats Jessie C!!

Thanks to all who entered and to MyBlogSpark for sponsoring this AWESOME giveaway!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Give back by purchasing your favorite cereal or snack! This October, by making simple everyday purchases at Sam´s Club, you can help support breast cancer education and research. Sam’s Club is featuring exclusive pink packaging on some of your favorite participating General Mills products in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Did you know?
  • For 5 years, General Mills has partnered with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Foundation to bring breast cancer support to local communities, and this year they are making their annual donation of $2 million to the foundation to advance breast cancer research and support education and community outreach projects.
  • Purchase specially-marked General Mills products like Cheerios and Fiber One 90 Calorie Brownies at your local Sam´s Club and help decide how half of that contribution will be donated by voting at PinkTogether.com from now until April 14, 2012.
  • General Mills´ donations will be divided between two important Komen programs: the Treatment and Assistance Program, which assists women in securing care they otherwise may not be able to afford, and Prevention Research, which helps unlock the keys to preventing breast cancer. Voting results will be announced on Mother´s Day 2012.
  • At our local Sam’s Club our family was able to purchase Yoplait Delights, Yoplait Yogurt, General Mills Cereal, and several other items. And guess what? We where able to give back! Because we purchased these items General Mills donated money in support of breast cancer. Not only where we able to enjoy our favorite foods, but we also gave back! How cool is that?
    A friend sent me a link to a website this week because she thought I would like, which led me to www.MakeYourCosmetics.com I do not use a lot of cosmetics, however, I do like to use organic as much as I can.     Stem Cell Research Paid Women For Eggs
    Am I the only one that think there’s something wrong with the title of this post? Oy, oy, oy. What is this world coming to? How low will we as a society go for money?
    The LA Times article said:
    The team paid the women who provided the eggs used in the study, a practice that has been forbidden by ethical guidelines from scientific organizations around the world. Some ethicists have argued that paying women for their eggs might create an exploitative trade.
    Ya think?!
    To avoid exerting undue influence on the donors, the New York team paid them $8,000 for the time and burden of donation (which does pose risks), then allowed them to decide later if they wanted their eggs to be used for research or for reproduction. That way, the conversation about payment was already over before any talk about scientific research began.
    I can only shake my head and feel sad. Now you know where I stand on stem cell research, after all I am pro-life, even for unfertilized eggs.
    Apple Co-Founder Dies
    We don’t own any Apple products, except our daughter’s ipod, but we would love to have a couple of their computers. As most of you may have heard, Apple’s co-founder, Steve Jobs, has died after battling with cancer.
    In an article I read a writer compared Jobs to other business icons such as Rockafeller, Ford and Walmart and said this of Jobs, “Under Jobs, Apple simply created a bunch of really cool products that people decided they needed to have.” (Source: Yahoo Finance)
    Will anyone be able to fill his shoes and continue to create “really cool products” or will they simply copycat? That remains to be seen, doesn’t it? Guess we need to seriously consider getting one of the cool products before they are obsolete, eh?
    On a more serious note, Jobs was only 56 and left behind his wife and family. Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with them today.
