Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells

download

The Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells is one of the Dell’s hidden treasures. The Wilderness has it all under one roof! We were able to host our first annual family reunion at the Wilderness and had a great time! We opted for accommodations in the 5 bedroom retreat cabin which housed our family of 18 wonderfully. There were enough bedrooms and ample space for everyone to enjoy the gathering for the weekend. The retreat cabin is a Wilderness property off the main “facility” BUT since it is part of the Wilderness we were able to get shuttle service to and from our cabin and the resort. It was very nice to be able to use the shuttle service and not worry about loading and unloading children and acessories into a car and driving back and finding parking. The shuttle is a great service.

While we were at the Wilderness we were able to use many of the amenities . We went to all four indoor water parks – the Wild West, Klondike Kavern, Cubby’s Cove and the Wild WaterDome . We must say that we enjoyed the WaterDome the best! It is home to the country’s largest indoor wave pool capable of generating waves up to 5 feet tall. This waterpark is also really neat because it features a see-through roof which that allows you to tan indoors year round and it is home to Margarita’s swim-up bar, a nice retreat for adults.

We also utilized the Wild Fun Pass during our trip… which at a cost of $24.95 gave us a valued savings on some of the most popular attractions at the resort. It Includes admission to two 3D mini golf courses, bumper boats, the resort’s amazing two-story laser tag arena , a fun laser maze, an indoor ropes course with over 40 challenges, indoor go-karts and more! The kids were more than tired out after a day in the waterparks and the fun times we had using our Wild Fun Passes.

The Wilderness was really perfect for a reunion because the resort has everything underone roof. no need to go off the grounds.
This was a vacation that will provided us with memories that last a lifetime! The kids said, “When can we come back? This was the best vacation ever!” We are already planning our next reunion at the Wilderness and cannot wait to return!

Coppertone Water Moms Recipes

Summertime Strawberry Lemonade

Ingredients:

1 liter of lemonade

1 cup of Strawberries, sliced OR 1 cup of Raspberries

½ cup of sugar

2 cups of water

Ice

Directions:

Combine sliced strawberries/raspberries and sugar in a bowl.  Using a fork, mash the berries into the sugar, leaving some large chunks.  Chill for 1 hour.  In a large pitcher, combine the berry mixture, the lemonade and the water and stir.  Add ice then serve!

Sea Salt Sweet Potato Chips

Ingredients:

2 medium sweet potatoes

2 tbsp.  Extra-virgin olive oil

½ tsp. of sea salt

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.  Line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.  Slice sweet potatoes into 1/8 inch thick slices, then coat slices with olive oil by tossing together in a bowl.  Place slices on baking sheets in a single layer so there is no overlap and then sprinkle with sea salt.  Bake for about 20-25 minutes, slipping once, until lightly browned and crisp.

Beach Sand Pudding Cups

Ingredients:

2 cups of Milk

1 (3.5 ounce) package instant pudding mix

1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed

1 (12 ounce) package of vanilla wafer cookies, crushed

Variety of candy topping to decorate

Directions:

Combine milk and pudding mix in a large bowl.  Beat with a whisk until well blended, then let stand for 5 minutes.  Add in whipped topping and half of crushed cookies and fold in.  Place 1 tbsp. crushed cookies into each cup, and then fill each up ¾ of the way full with pudding mixture.  Top with remaining crushed cookies.  Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.  Decorate with fun topping such as gummy worms, gummy snacks, gummy fish, paper umbrellas, or get creative and come up with your own!

Tick Removal

Ugg…  Ticks! I dislike ticks greatly!  I dislike the stuff I have to put on my dog to prevent ticks!  I dislike removing ticks!  Ewe…. Yuck… They are gross insects!  I recently received an email from a friend.  I haven’t tried it yet, hopefully I won’t have to!  But, it’s better than using tweezers.

“A School Nurse has written the information below – Good Enough to share – and it really works.”

“I had a pediatrician tell me what she believes is the best way to remove a tick. This is great because it works in those places where it’s sometimes difficult to get to with tweezers: between toes, in the middle of a head full of dark hair, etc.”

Tick Removal

“Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball.  Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20); the tick will come out on it own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.”

Let me know if it work, unless I need to do it before that!

ROCKY ROAD

Charming, sensible and refined are the words most used when describing a Rocky Road. Like an old soul they remain grounded through life and usually find themselves sharing their wisdom with the other flavors. Rich with depth they tend to gravitate to the finer things in life. Intelligent and adaptable to every situation and person. Rocky Road’s never lack for friends or admires.”

S’MORES

“Outdoor enthusiasts at their core, S’mores are most content when they are actively exploring nature with friends and family. S’mores can really take the heat and work extremely well under pressure. Despite their hard exterior, they are almost always soft and gooey on the inside making them great life long companions to most any flavor.”

HONEY GRAHAM

“With the perfect combination of innocents and wholesome sweetness, Honey Graham’s are known for their friendly dispositions and random acts of kindness. If you need advice or a listening ear, Honey Graham’s are the ones to ask. They are masters of communication and tend to be not only responsible but also extremely resourceful by nature. They like to leave their mark on everyone they meet and this is easy for Honey Graham’s to accomplish due to their sticky personalities.”

NUTTY MARSHMALLOW

“Exocentric and lively, Nutty Marshmallow’s have the tendency to be impulsive risk takers often making them the life of the party. This wild child rebel has a clever wit is not afraid to speak their mind. With boundless energy, Nutty Marshmallow’s usually have a never-ending hunger for adventure and new experiences. More so than another flavor, Nutty Marshmallow’s are young at heart and have an unyielding passion for life.”

My Review:

Food does not last long in my house.  That goes double for these Halo Bars!  My whole family loves them.  They are a great & healthly on the go snack.  Our family favorite was S’Mores!

Camping

This is a sponsored post.

a lot. Every summer my mom would take my sisters and I camping at favorite campsites around Nova Scotia and even to some new ones that eventually became favorites. My dad would usually join us wherever we were in the evenings, over the weekends or would be with us if he had taken vacation time.

Camping Tents

We were a bit pampered as my parents always had a camper, but we also owned camping tents over the years. Tenting was fun too. Camping tents are usually not as comfortable or dry as a camper, as you can imagine. And we didn’t have fancy camp beds, just our sleeping bags, a tarp to help keep us dry and the ground.

My husband’s idea of camping is in a camper too or a hotel. :-) Since we don’t own a camper, we save points to use towards hotel stays which certainly saves us money. But my husband does enjoy cook outs and since our family has grown so much, eating out is a rare treat. Therefore, when a homeschooling friend offered us her Coleman grill for free, we felt very blessed because we could take it on day trips or vacations and have something to eat other than sandwiches on the road.

perfectflow portable grill

However, we were missing a few parts when we got the grill home. We alerted our friend to this fact and she said she would look for them, but she hasn’t found them. So yesterday, I spent some time looking for the needed parts and ordered them. Now we are anxious to use our camp stove to grill on when we are at our growing field, as well as on trips. Can’t you smell the hamburgers and hot dogs now? ;-)
