Last week I wrote a post (read it at this link) about a company providing fresh, organic, in season fruit saying that I was going to try them out. I placed an order over the weekend. Apparently they process orders on Monday with the expectant delivery date being Wednesday or Thursday depending. We received ours today, which is ok. I will update you if our next order is any different in the way it is processed and/or delivered.

We received our box of organic apples, pears and cranberries via FedEx from FruitShare and I have to say I am impressed by the quality and taste. Very flavorful and juicy! The children were very excited and probably would have ate the whole box had I not held them back.

Our box contained a variety of 16 apples, 6 pears (2-3 varieties) and two containers of cranberries….Thanksgiving here we come! We could easily eat the whole box in a day or two with our crew, so I am grateful for the co-op we go to on Thursdays which provides us with some fresh organic produce as well. FruitShare is a treat. They truly choose quality fruit!

In celebration of Thanksgiving coming up, for healthy living and eating we are giving away a box from FruitShare! $39 Value! We where recently sent a adorable Hello Kitty lamp to review. This Hello Kitty lamp is simply adorable! You should have seen my youngest daughter’s face when she first saw it! She gave a HUGE smile and said “A Hello Kitty lamp?!” She was very pleased!

I on the other hand, am very pleased with this lamp. It is adorable and goes great with my daughter’s room decor. It would make a great gift for your little girl.

To sum this review up, my daughter and I are both very pleased with this lamp. As the picture shows you it is simply adorable and I love that it is very well made!

Math Blaster Giveaway

Most people either love Math or hate it. I fall somewhere in between. However, I have children who fall on either side of this love-hate relationship with Math. That’s why I try to come up with different ways to teach basic Math skills so that we can keep as fun as possible. It works most of the time.

Math Blaster is one of those new different ways that we have discovered that our children love to do Math on! Well, at least the section that has the Math problems on it, as there is a section that seems to be rather lacking in the Math department. My boys have found away around the math problems (they always do!), but they did have fun doing the math problems.

Math Blaster is very easy to use. My sons go on it with no help at all. It’s a great way to get your kids to do “extra” math while having fun!

Our children were eager to play Math Blaster and enjoyed it very much. Now you have a chance to win this fun way to help your children have fun while practicing their Math skills!

My Review: I discovered a few things about myself when reviewing “Yoga by the Dozen”. I need A LOT of practice, I have little balance and no flexibility.

My daughter (2 years old) and I put on “Yoga by the Dozen”, she loved it! Watching the children on the DVD (who are little older than her) bend and stretch their bodies into poses. She was following along (she’s needs to work on her balance too, must be a family trait) and trying to say the different poses on the DVD. She’s a big fan of the Virabhadrasana #3 (Warrior #3 Pose). The DVD is approximately 30 minutes. JoAnna demonstrates the pose first and then one of the children replicates the pose to refresh the other children. Then the whole class does the pose together. I enjoyed watching the kids, they are all really enjoying themselves in the DVD. We are going to continue practicing our yoga!

FFR Swiss Colony Giveaway! CLOSED

Blame me for this giveaway being posted late. My daughter had it all ready and need me to write up the review, which I did not get to until today.

When you think of watermelon, don’t you think of summer time and picnics? Guess that is what made me choose a cake in the shape of watermelon to review from Swiss Colony.

What made this cake unique is the not only its shape but that it had mini chocolate chips throughout. I think that was my favorite part!

The outer layer of icing was a little hard, but the bottom almost tasted like white chocolate. It was layered in pink and white colored cake batter and was very rich. One piece is enough for most. There were only two of us that got two pieces, so it serves 10-12 people. Perfect party servings.

Overall the cake was not a favorite among our family, but thought it was a very cute cake. Half the family did not really like the cake but ate it. The other half liked the cake but not the frosting. My husband and oldest thought it was too sweet, but cute.

So the watermelon shaped cake gets a two thumbs up for being cute and you all have a chance to win it!

My Review:

I was sent a pair of the Skylar Clogs to review in watermelon color because I am a girly girl. Love the color by the way! I also like the fact that you can wear them with the strap around your heel or you can push them forward and wear them like a slip on with no strap around your heel.

When I first tried them on I felt rather teetering because of the design on the bottom of the Skylar Clogs, it’s like you can rock in them when you stand. Weird I know, but after a walking in them that goes away the more you walk. Just took some getting use to compared to my other footwear.

I have to say that I really like Crocs. I have never had a pair before and I might have to fight with my daughter for them (not really but you’ll see why I say that). My 10 year old daughter took a shine to my new Crocs and tried them out even before I did since I was at the organic farming conference when they arrived. When I talked to home base over the phone they told me that my CROCS had arrived and asked if Giggles could open them, I said yes. Little did I know she would wear them ALL weekend long! And yes they fit her because we think she is going to be tall since her feet are nearly the size of mine and I wear size 9! Although I am short…..so I could be wrong, but she is tall for her age.

Editor’s Note 3/12/11: I wore them all day yesterday while working in the greenhouse and a walk around the neighborhood and I did start to get a blister on the top of my feet and the pads of my foot are sore a little. They are not quite broken in but my knees do not hurt and usually a shoe will let me know in my knees that they do not have enough support!
