***Closed***12 Days of Christmas Giveaways – Day 9 – EZ Sox

Congratulations to Shannon! You won this giveaway! Thanks to all who entered and to the wonderful sponsors! Winner chosen by random.org

On the ninth day of Christmas my true love gave to YOU! A pair of EZ Sox from EZ Sox!

EZ Sox (as seen below) are a wonderful gift idea for baby showers, for parents with toddlers, and a great stocking stuffer for toddlers and young kids. For parents of special needs children, EZ Sox addresses a daily need and offers these children self-sufficiency and empowerment.

Created by parents who tired of seeing their young son struggle dressing himself, Eileen and Ronnie Gesser designed socks with pull-up loops on both sides of each sock, and fun graphics on the tops of the socks. In no time, their son was no longer frustrated and proudly dressing himself. Today this fun and easy teaching tool for teaching kids self-sufficiency is the only one of its kind.

EZ Sox are available to you at their online retail website at http://www.ezsox.com. EZ Sox are also sold in 30 boutique stores throughout North America and one US Chain Store with 36 retail outlets. A Japanese distributor has EZ Sox in more than 70 retail stores in Japan.

My Review:

We really, really liked the frog EZ Sox that we where sent to review. My son’s face lit up when he saw them and he had no problem at all putting them on. He was able to put them on by himself on the first try. We think that they are a great product and love them! We have yet to wash them to see how well they wash up, but we’ll be sure to let you know how they wash up.

Watch this cute video to see how to use the EZ Sox:

Trusting in the Shepherd DVD

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Really Woolly Kids - Trusting in the Shepherd - DVD

I was interested in reviewing this DVD with my children because of the content. This product is a wonderful supplement to teaching the words of the Lord; specifically Psalm 23:4.

Dayspring, a Christian company, released the DVD. This 40 minute DVD is a wonderful diversion from the everyday cartoons on the television. The DVD focuses on facing your fears and trusting in Jesus. I know my children are like sponges and soak up everything their little minds hear and see, this was a wonderful program for their developing minds.

My children are 6, 4, and 2. Each child liked the DVD. They expressed their likes for the sheep characters and the songs. My 6 year old (and I) liked that the stories were relatable and included children talking to their parents about their fears. This is a great way to reinforce the fact that children should always be able to talk to their parents about anything.

This is a wonderful edition to any family’s library. I would reccomend it to anyone with young children.

About Little Sib, LLC

Little Sib provides children with toys that nurture and inspire them to be healthy, loving men and women through imaginative play. The company’s first product , Baby GoGoTM, reinvents the classic baby doll. It’s fun, colorful, safe, environmentally friendly and the answer to the outdated, traditional baby doll that is limited in its versatility for children of all races and genders. Visit the web site at www.babygogodoll.com.

Our Review

In some ways I feel sad about all the gender neutral products that are coming out. I miss seeing the frilly girly products and the products that scream “For Boys!” On the other hand, a product like Baby GoGo seems like the perfect gift for boys and girls since both need to be taught to be nurturing and loving to their siblings and other little friends.

We were sent the Baby GoGo and the Baby GoGo Diaper Bag Set to review. My younger daughter adores this doll! Sometimes I think she likes it better than her Madeline doll but I guess it depends upon the day. Now that our 2-year-old son has a little brother he can be seen mimicking the happenings of our household in his play with Baby Go Go and his sister’s Madeline doll. But I have to admit that my daughter has claimed Baby GoGo for her own, but can be persuaded to let her little brother play with it too. I think that both of them enjoy holding the real deal though. Baby GoGo is much lighter than our infant son so it doesn’t scare the rest of the family if little hands shift quickly while holding Baby GoGo!

Baby GoGo is well made and has already held up through at least one trip through the laundry cycle due to an accident. Baby GoGo’s clothing is easy for preschoolers to put on, although the hat did give our daughter a little trouble since it seems to pop off. Baby GoGo’s blanket is very much like our infant son’s new baby blanket making it even more authentic for our younger children.

The diaper bag is also well made. While the diaper bag and accessories are great and are similar to mom’s and dad’s, they tend to get misplaced or lost easily. Ever notice that some children would rather just undress the dolls and leave the clothes lying around the house? My little ones are still learning how to pick up and put things away in their proper place, so it’s mom (me!) that needs to be patient in the process!

Baby GoGo products are cute, affordable (for a quality made itemsl) and appealing to both boys and girls.

Available from local toy specialty stores and online at www.babygogodoll.com.

Monday Motivation

mondaybutton

Last week’s Monday Motivation:

~ Work – there is always something to do for clients and this week is a my first week with a full load for my newest client, so that will be something new. No longer working for this client as it was just not a good fit and another client finished her contract with me.  A bit of a let down, but it may be for the best with the new baby due to arrive any time.
~ Help out friends who just had a preemie baby a week ago at 26 weeks gestation. Baby Huck weighed only 1 lb. 8 oz. He was born via c-section so his mama is still recovering from surgery. This is their first child. They are organic farmers and we plan to help them on their farm a couple of days, plus deliver a couple of meals too. We were able to do this and hope to go to their farm again this week,  Lord willing.
~ Deliver a meal to friends who just had their seventh child – they have seven children 9 and under! Their baby was born a week ago Friday. We were able to do this.
~ Name our baby. Progress! We have a boys name and a first name for a girl! Yay!
~ Harvesting, weeding and hopefully starting some fall planting at our garden. Plus other business that needs to be done for our own farm start up. Only some harvesting and watering done on this front, so we have got behind. And we found out our watermelons are actually pumpkins!

This week’s Monday Motivation includes:

~ A friend I have known since 1988 is doing some great things to enjoy her four children and make lots of memories this summer. She has motivated and inspired me with the slow down of business to relax and enjoy my brood with some fun activities. Someone on our homeschool loop shared that area theaters are having $1.00 Wednesdays on certain movies, so the only two we were really interested in seeing were “Tooth Fairy” and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”. And guess what? They are playing the next two weeks. I should also include this in a Thrifty Thursday tip, eh?

~ Go to the little beach within walking distance of our house and just play.

~ Weeding, harvesting….

~ 36 week midwife appointment

~ Celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary!

Treating Autism with Bentonite Clay

This guest post was provided by Tina Turbin.

As a children’s author, researcher, and humanitarian, I have been growing increasingly alarmed at the growing number of autism diagnosis. Whereas in the 1980s, a study shows that 4 in every 10,000 children exhibited signs of autism, a study conducted recently by Cambridge University’s Autism Research Center showed that approximately 1 in 60 children have autism. Several years ago, I myself was diagnosed with celiac disease, caused by a reaction to gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, after many years without proper diagnosis for my painful symptoms. I am now happily gluten-free and pain-free. Lucky to have been correctly diagnosed and had my symptoms handled with the natural treatment of a gluten-free diet, I am passionate about helping children to avoid the same pain of misdiagnosis and to find natural remedies for their health problems. According to a recent article on NaturalNews.com, one such natural remedy for autism is calcium Bentonite clay. I had to share this information!

The use of Bentonite clay has been rising in popularity in autism treatment centers. Calcium Bentonite clay, also known as “Living Clay” and one of the most sought-after for its healing properties, has a particularly strong negative ionic charge which magnetically attracts positively-charged substances such as bacteria and metals, for example, and absorbs them, eliminating toxins from the body. It is used both internally and externally and is a rather simple procedure. In autism treatment centers, Bentonite clay baths are used to safely remove metals and toxins from the body to increase the chances of success when used in conjunction with other therapies.

As autism diagnosis increases, so does the controversy over its causes. Most researchers seem to be searching for a genetic factor, but others are showing evidence of environmental causes. “There`s really the role for something in the environment that could be triggering someone who is genetically susceptible,” says Dr. Gary Goldstein, a child neurologist and director of the Kennedy Krieger Institute, located in Maryland.

The research supporting the impact of environmental toxins has spurred the search for detoxification therapies that can remove them from our systems. Already large numbers of doctors are recommending chelation and detoxification programs in conjunction with behavioral therapy for autistic children, noting that with these toxins removed, other therapies are more effective. Chelators are substances that fix themselves to heavy metals. Chelation therapies are typically effective, but they’re expensive and carry a higher risk of side effects such as headache, diarrhea, fatigue, fever, and cramps, particularly for children. Calcium Bentonite clay is considered more effective and safer for children.

While many autism clinics are citing successful results with clay therapy, its use isn’t being promoted to doctors due to the fact that clay can’t be patented by the pharmaceutical companies. Similarly, celiac disease affects 1 out of 100 Americans, and since its treatment is simply a gluten-free diet—requiring no pharmaceutical products, doctors are failing to recognize the symptoms of the disease and diagnosis it correctly, leaving only three percent of celiacs properly diagnosed. However, just as in the cause to increase celiac and gluten-free awareness, by taking it upon ourselves to promote natural therapies for children’s autism, we will surely bring about increase awareness about the effectiveness of calcium Bentonite clay treatment, just as I’ve witnessed awareness of celiac disease and gluten-free grow a great deal over the years.
