Robert Pierre Music Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Is Bieber Fever running rapid through your house?  Check out this 18 year old that turned Christian music into Pop music.  If you or your kids enjoy Pop music, you’ll love this kid!

I introduce you to Robert Pierre!

Raised in a Christian home, this 18 year old, high school honors student loves basketball.  Seems like a typical high school kid, right?  He was approached in elementary school by a teacher. ” The teacher asked him “If you were to die right now, and were standing at the gates of heaven, and God asked you why He should let you in… What would you say?”  Robert could only think to answer honestly…  “He shouldn’t”.  His life changed at that moment.

With his voice, heart, and song writing ability Robert began his ministering through song journey.  He has released two (2) nationally distributed recond and three (3) singles that have reached the Billboard Christian Top 50 hit list.  Robert has performed at many festivals, camps, youth groups, and schools, as well as internationally.

Pierre’s third record is entitled “I’m All In”.  In which, he wrote 10 of the 11 songs, plays the guitar and sang back up!  That’s a talented kid!

My Review:

Pop!? How do you turn Christian Music into Pop Music?  Well, apprently it can be done!  And very well, I might add.  I put it on and got a wonderful surprise!  The beat was great and I felt like I was listening to my favorite boy band!  I found myself and my daughter dancing around the kitchen!  However, the messages are very different and refreshing from today’s pop music.

The four songs I downloaded were –

1.  Jesus

2.  You Hold Me Now

3.  Breaking My Heart

4.  Identity

I loved them all and guess what!  You can download or listen to them too!  FOR FREE!

Yanni – “Truth Of Touch” CD Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review as a member of One2One Network. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Yanni’s Back!  It’s been over 8 years since Yanni has released an original composition.  Yanni’s new CD Truth of Touch is available now!  In addition, Yanni also started his US tour in March.

Truth of Touch has 15 amazing tracks.  Your melodious journey begins with CD entitled Truth of Touch. The only thing missing from this track is a tall glass of ice water with a lemon and someone rubbing my feet.  As you continue on your Yanni trip, Vertigo is a faster up tempo song and will take your mind to dancing fountains.   Yanni also incorporated a few tracks with vocals including Can’t Wait and Secret.

My Review:

I know of Yanni but never really sat down and listened to his music.  I’m sure I’ve heard his music in various places and didn’t realize it was Yanni.  After listening to his new CD Truth of Touch, Yanni has another fan.  His music in this collection was beautiful!  Each song has it’s own story, as your mind wanders through the calming tones.  I will keep telling people about Yanni and his new CD Truth of Touch.

His CD or download is available now at his website, www.yanni.com or in stores now.  Yanni also started a US tour in March.

Midnight Lullaby CD Review

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Jane Roman Pitt : Midnight Lullaby

Jane Roman Pitt’s Midnight Lullaby is a delightfully soothing collection of bedtime songs written by some of our genreation’s most endeared singer songwriters including Bob Dylan, Wilco, Tom Waits, The Dixie Chicks, Sade and more.  In those moments when it’s time for parents and baby to retire for the night, this CD serves as something that parents and babies alike enjoy.”

Midnight Lullaby was produced in Nashville by Grammy Award winner Mac Gayden and feature many of Nashville’s finest musicians.”

“Not only is the act of lulling children to sleep with music a pleasurable experience, but studies show that music enhances a baby’s brain development.  These songs, which crossover into adult contemporary genre, have significant impact on the child’s health and well being.”

About Jane Roman Pitt:

“Jane’s introduction to music came from sneaking downstairs at night to hear the classical chamber music her parents and their friends were playing, and later by listening nonstop to folk music, pop, and jazz from all over the world. She started to play guitar at 15, and began to sing and play at local coffeehouses, college campuses, and on public television as the resident folk singer. She has a graduate degree in music history and composition, and has published her classical choral music with Transcontinental Music in New York.”

“Jane started collecting lullabies in preparation for her first grandchild. “Since the beginning of time, singing lullabies has been a way to express love and comfort. The languages may vary, but the message is exactly the same: ‘I love you very much, I’m here, and now please go to sleep!”

My Review:

Great baby shower gift!  I’m also recommending this CD for people that need to relax and let their day go.  When my daughter and I listened to this beautifully soothing CD, I almost fell asleep before her.  The music takes you to your relaxing/happy place.  If you close your eyes and listen, your there.  All the songs are wonderful, however my favorite song on the CD is “My Darling” written by Wilco.  You are able to listen to partial songs on her website.

You won’t regret purchasing this CD.

Trusting in the Shepherd DVD

Faith and Family Reviews received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While we consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, our reviews are our honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

Really Woolly Kids - Trusting in the Shepherd - DVD

I was interested in reviewing this DVD with my children because of the content. This product is a wonderful supplement to teaching the words of the Lord; specifically Psalm 23:4.

Dayspring, a Christian company, released the DVD. This 40 minute DVD is a wonderful diversion from the everyday cartoons on the television. The DVD focuses on facing your fears and trusting in Jesus. I know my children are like sponges and soak up everything their little minds hear and see, this was a wonderful program for their developing minds.

My children are 6, 4, and 2. Each child liked the DVD. They expressed their likes for the sheep characters and the songs. My 6 year old (and I) liked that the stories were relatable and included children talking to their parents about their fears. This is a great way to reinforce the fact that children should always be able to talk to their parents about anything.

This is a wonderful edition to any family’s library. I would reccomend it to anyone with young children.
