I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.
I received this lotion and was a bit skeptical about the fact that it is “supposed to get rid of dry skin problems” and found that it did help to get rid of my excema! Which I found to be very nice!
Skin MD Natural SPF 15 Formula: This is a lotion as well as a all natural Sun Screen. When my kids ( who ALWAYS get sun-burned) put this on one day well working for 2-3 hours at our garden we did not get burned so I was really impressed! This lotion is $25. Rather expensive but is worth it!
Skin MD Natural: I liked how soft this lotion made my hands feel. It made my legs and face soft too. Although it did not have the “wow” factor for me, it was a ok lotion though it just didn’t really do anything that another lotion couldn’t have done for me. It is $18.
Both lotions contain aloe vera and lots of great herbs! I liked both lotions. You may order the lotions here.
I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product. Thanks to Wood Sprite Organic Body for doing this review!
Grapefruit-Mint Gentle Organic Body Wash: This body wash smells great! It makes your skin so soft! I love it! I definitely recommend this! This product is so nice to use and I love using it. It comes in 5 scents and is $14.00 for a 9.5oz bottle.
Get Whipped Vanilla Shea Body Butter:This shea body butter is so nice to have for eczema and I like how it feels after you apply it. This body butter took away some of the eczema on my arm so I was impressed! It comes in a nice plastic container and has 4 scents. It is priced at $19.99 for a 3 oz jar.
Sweet Orange Lip Balm: This lip balm is extra special as it has a really great smell one of the best lip balm scents I have ever smelled! It is not greasy nor waxy tasting and is very helpful when you have chapped lips. It comes in 6 scents and is $5.00 for a .15 tube. I love this lip balm! š
Tea Tree Complexion Soap:This soap is SO soft it is hard to believe that it has no parabens or yucky ingredients. It is has olivie oil in it so that makes it extra soft! I really like this soap! It is $9.00 for a 0z bar. This soap is great to combat eczema, psoriasis or acne.
I definitely recommendWood Sprite Organic Body! It is nice as they are Certified Organic! They don’t use any chemicals in their products which is really great. They have a lot more products so be sure to check them out.

I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.

I recently received some product from Alabu Natural Goat Milk Soap and liked it alot! The product that I received was:
Organic All Natural Shea Body Butter: This body butter was very nice to use as it helped take away some of my eczema on my arm. I really liked that it is all natural and comes in 2 kinds of āscentsā the product that type that I received is the Original with jojoba oil. The other scent is: Tea Tree. It is defiantly really nice for dry skin when you donāt have any hand-cream on hand or after a shower! It is priced at: $4.90 for Original but the Tea Tree is priced at $6.90. Very reasonable for all natural shea body butter.
Organic All Natural Lip Balm: The lip balm comes in 3 different flavors so to speak and I received mint. I liked the scent and āflavorā it helps chapped lips but, I didn’t find that it made any drastic changes for my lips. But I thought that it was a nice lip balm. The scents are: Mint, Tea Tree, Vanilla, and Natural. They are all priced at $3.50
Organic All Natural Neem Essential Oil Soap: Neem oil contributes conditioning properties and a wonderful lather to this soap, making it a good choice for dry and problem skin. The neem oil is not added for the great scent (it actually smells terrible, and they add lavender essential oil to help tone down the scent). It’s in the soap because it’s great for your skin. So I just wanted you to be informed: don’t judge it for it’s smell! I didn’t really smell anything that bad, it smelled like lavender to me. I found it a very nice soap and it made my skin VERY soft! It must be the goat soap that does that! It is priced at: $6.30.
Organic All Natural Baby Me Ultra-Moisturizing cleansing Bar:I really liked this soap and it is all the name says it is! š It too makes my skin feel soft and silky! It smells nice and I think it was my favorite of the two soap. Extra special handmade soap for anyone with extra sensitive skin. I found it lathered nicely and was a great bath bar! It made my hands very soft after working in the garden all day. It is reasonably priced at: $5.15
All in all I would highly recommend Alabu products. Here is a little bit about Alabu:
After making goat milk soap for a home-school chemistry project, we quickly realized how drying and harsh commercial soap was to our skin. We found that handmade natural soap (made with the ācold processā soap method) retains the naturally occurring glycerin that is very beneficial to your skin. Family and friends told us how our soap was a great skin care product, and how it did not leave their skin feeling dry and itchy like commercial soap did and helped with their eczema treatment. That is when Alabu Soap was born. Now we have retail and wholesale soap customers world wide.” (My note, the Alabu company was founded by a Christian Home-Schooling family.)
Even though we homeschool, back to school sales are on our minds too. After all we need school supplies just like everyone else. We are looking forward to taking advantage of the IL tax break starting August 6th, I think.
Thanks to a HARO query, we have many wonderful products to share with you over the week or two starting on Monday! Bear with us as we try to post as many of them as possible. We received close to 100 pitches, however, not all of them will be featured. We are trying to narrow them down to our favorites and ones that we think best fit our Back to School Product Guide.
This week’s Thrifty Thursday is about the weekly mini golf deal we found near to us, so maybe you could check out your local miniature golf courses in your area to see what kind of deals they offer during the week.
If you remember from my anniversary post, we went mini golfing and guess what? It was $5.00 for each of us. This is a Tuesday and a Friday special at this particular miniature golf course. They run this special from 5 pm to 9 pm. We thought it made for a cheap date night!
This is also the same place we had hoped to take the children to as a surprise last night, but it never happened. Lord willing, next week! With all of us, it won’t necessarily be cheap, but it’s still affordable for a rare treat. None of the children have ever been mini golfing, so it will be interesting to see all their reactions. Plus it will make a wonderfully fun memory for all of us!
I received the following product in exchange for writing a review. While I consider it a privilege to receive free products to review, my review is my honest opinion and thoughts of the product.
The product that is received in exchange for a review is a darling Beige Feather Beret this barrettes is very comfortable and is very well made. It is one of the most comfortable berets that I have worn/ tried on! I love it! It is the perfect addition to any old boring outfit to make it new and exciting. The barrettes are very light weight and easy to wear. They are 100% Acrylic. You can only hand wash these barrettes. They come in 8 colors so you can choose which one you like best! š Personally, I like the beige and brown colors best.
Here are some pictures of the product that I received:
I know that I don’t usually post much about politics, but this is family related and of interest to our family because we are hoping and praying that ObamaCare does not get implemented. We also applaud the Virginia judge who has the best interest of the citizens of the state of Virginia at heart as he goes into legal battle regarding mandatory healthcare for everyone. May more judges and legislators join him in this fight for our constitutional rights!

By: Betsy McCaughey August 4, 2010
Last November, a reporter asked House Speaker Nancy Pelosi if it was constitutional for Congress to require Americans to buy health insurance. Ms. Pelosi responded, “Are you serious?”
On Monday, U.S. District Judge Henry Hudson got serious. He denied Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’s motion to dismiss a lawsuit brought by the state of Virginia challenging the new health law. His ruling stated that it is far from certain Congress has the authority to compel Americans to buy insurance and penalize those who don’t.
Judge Hudson’s ruling paved the way for a trial to begin on October 18, with possible appeals all the way to the Supreme Court, a lengthy process. Some states will likely delay creating insurance exchanges and slow down other costly preparations for ObamaCare until its constitutionality is determined by this case.
If mandatory insurance is declared unconstitutional, the entire health law could collapse like a house of cards.
Judge Hudson ruled that the court must do what Congress failed to do-apply the Constitution.
Ms. McCaughey is a former lieutenant governor of New York and author of “Obama Health Law: What It Says and How to Overturn It” (Encounter, 2010). For more information, visit Defend Your Healthcare.US
This is additional information from an email we received with the article above, just for those interested:
The enactment of the Obama health law is a bruising blow to American freedom and medical excellence. But the war is not over. There can be no negotiation between freedom and coercion.
Treat yourself and kids in need Thursday, Aug. 5! Take a look at this email that I received from DQ:
Do you believe in miracles? Well we do, because next Thursday, August 5 is Miracle Treat Day at DQĀ®. On this day, you’ll have the chance to make miracles happen for sick and injured children in your area. All you have to do is buy a BlizzardĀ® treat on Thursday, August 5 at a participating DQ location and $1 or more from each Blizzard treat sale will be contributed to your local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. It’s that easy. And think about the impact you, a Blizzard Fan Club member, can make. If each fan club member simply bought one Blizzard treat on Miracle Treat Day then we would raise over $2 million for kids in need. Pretty amazing, huh? Since 1984, DQ has raised over $81 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, let’s make this year a record-breaking year! Buy a Blizzard treat on Thursday, August 5 and make miracles happen.
