Theresa already reviewed this book…but we thought it would be nice to do a second review, since I was also given a copy for our family.
OUR REVIEW:
This is a cute little book! The premise of the book is to teach about prime numbers and factoring…the book goes through the numbers 1-100. The author states that the only thing you need to know in order to enjoy this book is how to multiply whole numbers together, like 2 and 3. My daughter (7) is just getting into multiplication so this book is a bit conceptually advanced for her…but we did find that it could be used for simple counting lessons for my 2 and 5 year old. My children LOVE the pictures of the monsters…this is what got them interested in the book and numbers. I think that they would have been disinterested had there been simply numbers and facts. The monster theme made the book for my children.
As a mother I liked the book immensely! I was glad that the book had a use for my 2 and 5 year old as well as my 7 year old! I like that the book has a second use of numbers and silly pictures to entertain my younger children while being able to teach my older child about simple mathematical facts. This book gets 5 stars from our family!

OUR REVIEW:
The product we received was FiberChoice original formula. My normal fiber supplement is taken in the form of a “gummi” so I was a bit hesitant to try a chewable tablet, for fear that it might taste chalky. This supplement is NOT chalky is it nice and smooth, it chews nicely and goes down well! I like the fact that no additional water is necessary when taking this supplement…just chew and go! I must say that the flavors are good…nothing yucky or odd tasting, just fruity flavors! The product I received was also sugar free…so an added plus ! I have added this to my morning supplement routine and I must say I am very pleased. The only downfall of the product is that it may cause your urine to smell. The supplement caused a smell similar to that of eating asparagus…I was not put off by the smell enough to stop the supplements, just something that happened as a side effect.
All in all, this was a great product. I liked the overall digestive health I have felt while using the product, plus the benefits of the added fiber. I may just switch my gummi fiber supplement out for Fiber Choice!

My Review
First off, I’d like to thank the Veggie Patch team for all their help. For the past few weeks, I had a hard time trying to find Veggie Patch items. Of course, it was my fault. I was looking in frozen food and the Veggie Patch products are located by the tofu’s and veggies.
When I visited the Veggie Patch website (http://www.facebook.com/eatveggiepatch.com) today, I noticed my grocery store only seemed carry about 4 of the 19 products. I will be suggesting they add more Veggie Patch products.
My family and I received the Falafel Chickpea Balls & Spinach Bites with Cheese. One word. YUMMY! I wish my grocery store offered more of the varieties that Veggie Patch offers.
The Spinach Bites with Cheese are wonderful! Our next gathering we are getting them again! Even with the breading they are not “heavy” on the belly.
My husband LOVES chickpeas and the Falafel Chickpea Balls did not disappoint. There is a recipe on the inside of the packaging that is not to be missed, Falafel Pockets. Try them for yourself.
Veggie Patch has a few more new fans! I’ll be speaking with my local grocery store to ask them for more varieties!

Our family does not really eat fish, so this post is a bit out of character for that one reason. My parents on the other hand LOVE seafood and certain types of fish. However, being as conscious as we are of what we eat, we thought these foodie tips about fish were important to share in a day and age where fish are contaminated with all kinds of “no-nos” for our health (mercury, PCBs, antibiotics), overfished, and caught in environmentally destructive ways.

Ok, my last book review for the week, maybe even the summer….but that’s unlikely as I have some farming books to complete too.
Beneath the Night Tree was highly emotional, funny and poignant story of a single mother. If you know a teen who has had a child out of wedlock then you will sympathize with Julia DeSmit as she travels the road as a single parent. You will be gripped to your seat as her life is upset by the reappearance of her child’s dead beat dad.
Each of the characters in Beneath the Night Tree endeared themselves to me, all except one. I loved the mother-love Julia had for her two “boys”. The strength of Julia’s character is amazing with all the events she had to overcome. I loved the relationship she shared with her grandmother. She was a devoted granddaughter.
Julia was fortunate enough to finally find love with a man who not only accepted and loved her, but loved her two “boys” as his very own. I think it takes a special individual to welcome a child that is not their own into their hearts and to love that child as if he was his flesh and blood. Not everyone can do it and I admire those who can and do. Since I have a tender spot for teen moms, I was in tears during many parts of this book as Julia went through her soul searching adventure.
Two of my younger sisters were teen mothers, but only one of them stayed with the father of her children. The other is blessed to have found a man who is a true father to my nephew, who is going on 17 this year. His “dad” has been a father to him since he was at least 2 years old.
I highly recommend Beneath the Night Tree. It is an endearing story of one woman’s ability to overcome the past and move on with the future. I have already begun to read it over again and that is not something I do very often!

Shop Bedding.com is a company that sells high quality mattress covers, sheets, pillow cases, pillows, and all sorts of bedding.
I was sent a bed bug proof mattress cover to review. (NO we do not have bed bugs, I choose this product since we have little children and they constantly spill things on our bed)
I really loved that this cover was so large and roomy. It was a bit big for my queen sized mattress. But, that’s okay. This mattress cover is very well made and is a nice soft material. I loved that it zips completely around the entire mattress and that it isn’t hassle to get on or off.
Personally, I view this product as a mattress cover, not a bed bug cover. 😀 It does a great job of protecting my mattress and keeps any liquids out and away from it. I loved that aspect!
