KidsBowlFree.com

Look what I found this morning!  How exciting!  This is the information I’ve gathered through Kidsbowlfree.com .  “Registered kids receive 2 FREE games of bowling everyday all summer long”.  They mention the value is over $500.00 per kid!  I imagine this would be if you went everyday.  Click on your state in the US or Canada to find your nearest bowling center.

I went to my nearest center and currently they are only taking email address to send you more information for this summer once it’s available.

I had questions and went to the F.A.Q.  Most of the answers I found depend on the bowling center itself.  My three biggest questions were what are the age requirements? Do I need to pay for shoes? When is the free bowling? (dates, times, days) Unfortunately, I won’t find out these answers until registration opens and I get my email.

They also have a benefit for families!  KidsBowlFree.com has a Family Pass!  For $24.95 (according to their site) for the summer up to 4 adults, get 2 free games person per day also!

This is great family fun time!  I’ll update you when I get my email!

Too Many Easter Eggs!!

This past weekend my family and I went on 2 eggs hunts, with more planned Easter weekend.  My daughter had a great time and we enjoyed watching her at the hunts.  BUT NOW!!!!

What am I going to do with all these plastic eggs!!!

Sure, I could store them and save them for next year (which I will – for some).  I was thinking there’s gotta more uses for these plastic eggs than use them once a year!  Right?

There’s TONS of great ideas all over the web!  You can make a wreath, store jewelery in them,  or my favorite –  clean them good and put snacks in them!

Here’s my ideas –

Find an egg carton, put a half of the plastic eggs in there and put paint in them! You have a holder and it’s easy clean up!

Cinco De Mayo is coming in May – Put some beans in the eggs and tape them closed.  Easy Maracas!

I have lots of eggs, help me out.  What are your ideas?

PottyCover Review

“Mommy, I have to go potty!”  The one phrase that makes my skin curl when we are out.  All I can think of is all the germs and gross encounters in a public bathroom.

Problem Solved!  Here’s the PottyCover.  It covers the sides and front of the toilet not just those little doughnut things that slide all over.  “Double layered with soft non-woven fabric on top, coated with a layer of plastic on the bottom to keep away from germs and wetness.”  So, now you and/or your child can actually sit on the toilet when you are out.  Each PottyCover is individually wrapped, so you can toss some in your diaper bag or purse.  These cannot be flushed, you’ll need to toss them in the garbage when you are done.  Don’t forget to wash your hands!

The PottyCover is available online at Amazon.com, Ebay.com, Bed,Bath & Beyond, and Buy Buy Baby (also available in the store).

PottyCover Review

I want to buy these by the dozens!  What a great idea!  We went out to breakfast with extended family and my daughter (3 years old) needed to use the potty.  It was a stress-free ordeal!  I just put the PottyCover on and she was able to sit and hold on without me trying to hold her.  No more wrestling with toilet paper trying to cover the seat.  Anyone can use these not just your kids.  I need to stock up!

Sibu Beauty Review

I was recently given the opportunity to review a Sibu Beauty product called Sea Buckthorn Revitalize & Renew, a liquid supplement for skin, hair and nails. I loved the look of the company and their commitment to sustainability and environmentally friendly practices.

Sibu Beauty

Sibu Beauty products all started with a meeting between Sibu’s founder, Bruce McMullin and an ayurvedic specialist (which is Ayurveda, which literally means “The Science of Life,” is an ancient healing science from India Source) in Calcutta, India. This specialist told Bruce about a “powerful holy fruit, the Sea Buckthorn berry” and Sibu was founded in 2003.

Sibu has a complete line of products including: facial cream, body cream, balancing facial cleanser, hydrating serum, replenishing night cream, sea buckthorn seed oil, age defying eye cream and a bar of facial soap. Products range in price: $6.95-$50.90. They even have a couple new products not in their brochure.

All of Sibu’s products are chemical free, contain no artificial flavors or colorings and no preservatives. The company seeks to use the sea buckthorn berry responsibly and in a sustainable manner. Sibu Beauty also practices fair trade in that they offer fair wages to the people of Tibet who harvest the berries, environmentally safe processing techniques and healthy, safe working conditions. (Source: Sibu’s product brochure & website)

The company’s founder is committed to giving back to charity, which you can read more about on their website under the “Giving Back” tab.

Sea Buckthorn Revitalize & Renew

Sea Buckthorn is suppose to improve skin tone and texture, supports hair and nail growth. It is full of Omega 3, 6, 7 & 9 fatty acids. Omega 7 is rare, but supposedly vital for cellular support. It is also a powerful free radical scavenger.

Ingredients: Besides the Omega fatty acids, sea buckthorn fruit puree, apple juice from concentrate, white grape juice from concentrate, acerola fruit juice from concentrate, evaporated cane juice, banana puree, sea buckthorn oil seed oil, natural flavors, pectin, xanthan gum.

Sibu Beauty Review

I am pretty skeptical by nature, but have had such a dry face this winter that I was willing to try anything to help alleviate the flakes and scales! I received a 25.35 fl.oz. bottle of the Sea Buckthorn and started taking it….oh nearly a month ago, I guess. I have taken a tablespoon or so each day, pretty consistently but have missed days and think there might be just the slightest change, maybe. Definitely no overnight differences or incredible results by any means.

By my last tablespoon, which I took yesterday, I think I was finally getting use to it’s unusual flavor. I am not a huge peach or apricot fan and I would have to say that Sea Buckthorn reminded me of a mix of those two fruits. I would literally shiver after drinking it, but I persevered because I wanted to be able to give an honest review of how well it worked. I could have easily given up the first day! 😉 Just goes to show that if you keep trying a food/drink you can start to kind of like it, even if you didn’t in the beginning.

I like the idea of this product, but the ingredient “natural flavors” is always something hidden. While the ingredients are not organic, two of these products have a low score on EWG.org (Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Cosmetic site), so that is very good. The other products were not showing up in the database.

Overall, this was an ok product and I am glad I tried it. However, ultimately I think beauty products are a personal choice and we have to find what works best for us. For more information about this product please visit: www.SibuBeauty.com

Zero Water Review and Giveaway (2 Winners)

STOP BUYING BOTTLED WATER!!!  ZeroWater is here to help save the Earth with it’s water filtration system.  ZeroWater has a “patented 5-stage water filter system and is the only system certified to meet the Food & Drug Administration’s standards for Purified Bottle Water.”

Let’s talk water and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) – TDS is the substances in your water that make it “taste salty, bitter or metallic.”  I live in the Northeast and have well water.

I used the TDS water meter provided

I tested our tap water and here’s the results.

That meter reads 126 as the glass stood there for a few minutes it went up to 129.  Which in my area of the world is normal for tap water.  Most of the US falls into the 051-200 meter reading.  The ZeroWater filter will produce about 24 to 40 gallons of water for my area.  As the meter reading rises the gallons of water reduces, because the filter has more substances to clean.

I buy bottled water for my family to drink.  If I drink my current tap water from the faucet, frankly it tastes like dirt.  I’ve tried other filtration devices and they haven’t worked.

Here’s what happened to the meter when I put my tap water through the filter.

The meter dropped to 001!  WOW!

For the heck of it – I tried bottled water.

That one was 046!

The Pitcher –

It fits well in the fridge, has a place on the lid to put the TDS meter and a little spout on the bottom.  I don’t even need to take the pitcher out of the fridge!  My only concern in the future would be a leak from the spout.  So, far all is well an no leaks!  Hooray!

The Taste – It improved my water taste tremendously!  No more dirt water and I can finally stop buying bottled water!  ZeroWater recommends that you change your filter when you TDS meter reads 006.

World Water Day was officially on March 22!

My Review – Great product.  As I said earlier my water tasted terrible.  With the ZeroWater Pitcher, I don’t have to buy bottled water anymore!  I can save money and the environment!

Mommy Vacation, Blog Vacation, Brandcation

I will admit I am pretty much a home body. My husband and I are not apt to go on dates or it’s very rare. I have never gone anywhere overnight without my children. I heard some of you *gasp*! The closest I have come to doing so is when I went home to Canada when my dad was sick back in 2002, even then I had a 4-month old with me! However, that is about to change come May 4-6th when I attend the 3rd Annual Brandcation Bloggers Gone Coastal. Call it a mommy vacation, it won’t really be a blogging vacation since I will still be doing some social media stuff, besides the whole event is centered around bloggers and blogging! I have never attended a blogging event either and am very excited and nervous now that I have taken the step of faith bought my ticket, paid for my lodging and booked my airfare! I have never met any of these women except for our online interaction, but I have learned a lot from many of them.

Brandcation

What is Brandcation anyways? It an annual event that is only open to a select few bloggers – only 30 tickets are sold. Once they are gone, they are gone. I got one of the last few, I cut it that close! Only about 5 PR tickets are sold. Incredible brands sponsor this event to keep costs low for the attendees and an amazing group of women organize all the activities! (Thanks Trisha, Lynsey and Kim! And any others behind the scenes!)

There are no classes or workshops, all networking is done in conversation making it personal, enabling attendees and PR to connect face to face real life style.

I have wanted to go the last two years but have been unable to due to being pregnant and having a baby under a year. I still can’t believe I am going this year!

Let the Fun Begin!

P.S. If you happen to be a brand or company reading this and think my blog compliments your product or service, I am seeking sponsors for this event. Please contact me for more details about partnering with me to share your brand with 30 other bloggers. Thanks!
