Springtime means mudtime here in our area of the country. Our children have been eager to get outside and play, but since the snow is melting and temperatures are creeping up our yard is a mud pit. Take a look at the area beneath our swingset:
I tend to discourage the children from going outside, take them for a walk or stress the importance of staying on the driveway to play….just to avoid a mass of mud being tracked into the house.
What tips do have for avoiding the mud this spring?
I know what you mean. When the snow starts to melt (in April) we have nothing but water holes and mud pits all over town. I just lay out towels on the floors and get ready for an overload of laundry for the next month. Eventually everything dries out though!

it’s been so sunny that I want to take the kids to the park, its so gross that we can’t even go .
I just recently sucked it up and bought rainboots for each of the kids for this reason. I can just hose them off and they get to play. Super easy.

When I was a kid, we had a pair of “outside shoes” that never went inside. We would take them off outside the door, and put them on when we wend out to play.
Just have a water hose really close to hose them off before they come inside LOL!
Well, so far the rain boots and hose are sounding like the best solution. We do have rain boots since we had to have them for the farm. I still just dread the mess…..does that make me a type A mom? Sigh….
Not there yet (my son is 15 months) but uh!
